The customer was using two strands of OEM’s RS100 narrow chain with threaded pins that hold the trays used to mould the liquid chocolate. They had an issue with elongation due to poor lubrication and pin breakage. Tsubaki recommended the RS100 narrow Lambda chain with an integral pin design. The Lambda chain solved the poor lubrication issue, and the new pin design resolved the pin breakage. The OEM chain lasted 5 years with downtime and preventative maintenance hours incurred. Tsubaki chain lasted 6 years with no breakage and lost production hours, resulting in $131,886 in cost savings.
